Thank you to Sarah Dahill for allowing us to share her essay at the awards night:

Dreams are a way to challenge yourself, to push yourself past your limits, to believe that you can do anything that you set your mind to. Dreams can be small and simple, seeming meaningless to some. But dreams can also be big, spectacular, even nearly impossible to achieve. We all share this amazing ability that gives us hope to get through even the toughest challenges, as long as we continue to dream.

At age seventeen, I have already dreamed of countless things, from when I was young and had hopes one day I would be able to fly, to now, when what I dream for most is to be the best person I can be on an everyday basis. I hope to live everyday to the best of my ability and push myself to new adventures, new hopes, new people. I dream of smiling, laughing with friends, exploring new places, and so much more. I want to appreciate everyday I have and make the most out of it. Giving back to the community, helping those who have helped me get to where I am today, is something I hope I can do the same back one day. To me, loving the person you are and the world you live is the most important thing to do.

As my high school years are coming to an end, I reflect on the good times, the bad times, and everything that falls between. I will always remember these moments I’ve shared, but will continue to push myself, my limits, and my mind. I will continue to dream, think big, and enjoy the world that gives us this wonderful ability.

On Monday, April 16th, 2018 I will be running the Boston Marathon. I am running to raise funds for Emma’s Memorial fund. Last year, we awarded $5,000.00 in scholarships. We will continue to fund scholarships and other charities in Emma’s name.

Thank you to everyone who has made a donation. I’m incredibly thankful for your generosity and support.

Emma has been motivating me on my long runs. This week I will get 31 miles in with a 16 mile run this weekend. Running has been therapy in my grief. I will run for my beautiful girl and others gone too soon.

I am so thankful to my friend, Megan Lawrence, who donated a bib to be used to raise funds for The Emma Ryan Memorial Fund, Inc.

Please consider making a donation in Emma’s memory.
